Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect the account details you give us when you sign up (your name and email), the business information you choose to enter (your business name, services, hours, photos, and similar), and basic usage data about how Helpfol is used (pages visited and actions taken), which helps us understand what works.

2. How we use it

We use this information to run Helpfol - your page, your website, and your workspace - to improve the product, and to respond when you contact us. Your information is never sold, and we do not use it to sell advertising.

We also use the details you enter about your business to make your website, and to make and propose website designs for your business. Besides the emails about something you asked for or set up, such as designs you requested or your domain going live, we email you news about your website that you did not ask for, such as designs prepared for it, and every one of those news emails has an unsubscribe link. If you agreed to receive ideas and offers from us, we may also email you designs made for your business and offers that go with them; you can turn this off at any time in your account settings or with the unsubscribe link in any of those emails. To make your website and those designs, your details are processed by an AI service - Claude, provided by Anthropic, a company in the United States. Anthropic stores those details in the United States, and may process them there or in other countries.

3. Signing in with Google

You can sign in to Helpfol with your Google account. When you do, Google shares four things with us: your name, your email address, your profile picture and your Google account id. That is all Google's basic sign-in shares, nothing more.

We use your name and email address to sign you in and to name your account. We keep the picture and the account id with your sign-in and use them for nothing else. We do not use your Google data for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone. We keep no key that lets us act in your Google account.

To disconnect Helpfol from Google, remove Helpfol from the third-party connections in your Google account. You can still sign in with a link we email you. Deleting your Helpfol account, as described under Your rights below, also removes its Google sign-in and every signed-in device.

4. Your signed-in devices

Each browser you sign in on is kept as a session, so you stay signed in. With it we keep the device it came from, as the browser describes itself, and a rough place: the city, region and country our network provider, Cloudflare, gives for the connection when you sign in. We never keep exact coordinates, and we never show the place next to your internet address. We do record the internet address a session signed in from, to spot misuse.

A session is kept until you sign out, until it is ended, or until it has not been used for 400 days.

5. Where it is stored

Your data is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers and encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols.

6. Your rights

Your data is yours. You can access it, export it, or delete it at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our live systems. For any of these, email [email protected] or use the controls in your workspace.

7. Cookies

Helpfol uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. The complete list of what we store is on the cookies page.

8. Analytics in plain words

We count visits and page views to see what is useful and what is not. This is done to improve Helpfol - anonymously where possible, and never for sale.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
