Any small business

One place for your business

A website with your prices and hours to send people, a contact card they save in one tap, and a QR code on your phone that opens either. You put your details in once, and all three come from the same place. Free, with no payment details and no trial.

The example site for Lumo Hair Studio on a phone: Cut and finish $75, Colour from $140, Extensions on quote, and buttons to call, WhatsApp or get directions. An example; yours is drawn from what you put in.

A website, a contact card and a QR code, free from day one

Take Emily Carter, who cuts hair at Lumo Hair Studio in Fitzroy. She is an example I made up, not a customer, so her helpfol.com addresses on this page are not live. Her site, her contact card and her QR code all come from the details she put in once: her name, what she does, her hours, three services with their prices, her number and her street.

It is the same for you. Switch your website to Published, and the same day you have a website, a card and a QR code to hand to anyone, and an inbox behind them. No payment details to start, and no trial.

  • A website to send people to. Emily's would be at helpfol.com/l/lumo-hair-studio/: Cut and finish $75, Colour from $140, Extensions on quote, her hours, and buttons to call, WhatsApp or get directions.
  • A contact card with your name, your business and your number. Emily's would be at helpfol.com/@emily-lumo. One tap and you are saved in their phone, and that saved number is still there with no signal.
  • A QR code on your phone that opens your card or your site. Hold it up when someone says 'have you got a card?' and they point their camera at it.

Your details in one place, not five

Right now your details are probably in a few places: your socials, the link in your bio, the profile that comes up when someone searches your name, a box of business cards, maybe a website someone built a while ago. None of them talk to each other. So Colour goes from $140 to $150, the socials have it, the profile does not, and the cards never will.

Here your details live in one place: your name, what you do, your services and prices, your hours, who works with you, your links, how to reach you. Your site, your card and your QR code all show what you write here, and messages from your form come back to the same place. Change the price once, press Save changes, and anyone who opens your link sees $150. Nothing to redo, nobody to ring.

Solid is here today. Dotted is coming next. Dashed is further off, with no date on it.

Wherever someone meets you, they get the same details

Paste the link where 'DM for prices' used to be. Send it in a text from the couch at 10 pm. Hold your QR code up on your phone at the counter. When someone taps Add to contacts on your card, your number goes into their phone as a real contact, and it stays in their phone, signal or not. Put the link at the foot of a quote, or under your name in an email.

Wherever they open it, the link shows your latest prices, hours and number. Anyone who opens your site can pass it on with one tap.

None of this brings people to you. You hand it out yourself, the way you do now. What it does is make sure whoever you hand it to sees the right price and the right number.

Five ways in, one site. The site is Lumo Hair Studio's, the example; the ways in are the ones you use already.

The questions you get every week, with the answers on your site

'How much?' Your services, priced the way you actually charge: a set price, like Cut and finish $75; a from price, like Colour from $140; or on quote, like Extensions. Each service can have its own photo. 'Are you open?' Your hours, and a line saying whether you are open right now. It needs your hours filled in.

'Where are you?' Your suburb in your own words, and your street only if you put it there. Directions shows only when you add an address. 'Are you licensed?' Write your licence or registration number into your About, in your own words. Nothing checks it and there is no badge. 'Do you have Instagram?' Your links, in your order: Emily's site has Instagram, her booking link, TikTok and Facebook, each a tap away.

'Can I message you?' A button that opens WhatsApp or a text message, named after the app you choose. You can also turn on a message form, which is off until you do: people write to you from your site without signing up for anything, and you can have each message emailed to you.

Your site says what you wrote, and nothing else

No star rating. No anonymous reviews. No 'similar businesses nearby' sending a customer to the shop next door. Your site is about you, and nothing goes up that you did not put there.

Your number is not printed into the page as text, so it is harder for bots to pick up. A person still gets a Call button. Your email works the same way. Your street is on your site only if you put it there. Leave the address out and there is no Directions button.

Testimonials come later, in the customer's own name. There is no date for that yet. Until then, your site says what you wrote.

The example site, and three things that are not on it, on purpose.

Start with a ready-made website. Add a custom one later, without starting again.

Next, and coming: your custom website, drawn from the same details and designed for you, for when you want more than the ready-made one, with your own domain name and a business email set up for you. That part will be paid, and it is not priced yet. You do not need it for the free site, the card or the QR code.

Later, with no dates yet: quotes and invoices, and what is owed. Your licences and certificates, checked where they can be checked. Printed business cards and a counter sign, made from your details and posted to you.

None of that is here today. Your ready-made website, the card and the QR code are.

What goes on it, and when it goes up

Your site is built from things you already know: your name, what you do, where, your hours, your services and how you want to be reached. With no logo and no cover photo it still looks finished, not half done.

Nothing goes public until you switch it from Draft to Published on Your website, under Where people find you. Once it is published, View it as a visitor opens it the way a customer sees it, and your link is right there to copy. You can change every line afterwards, and the next person who opens the link sees the new one.

Put in what you already know: your name, what you do, your hours, your services and how to reach you. Nothing goes public until you publish it. Your site, the card and the QR code are free.
